Photography (Period 5)

This is an introductory studio art course in basic photography. Students will shoot, process film and make enlargements using 35mm cameras and black and white film. Students will also learn digital imaging using DSLR cameras and Adobe Photoshop to manipulate and enhance images. Focus is on artistic perception, creative expression, historical and cultural context and aesthetic valuing. Students will also connect and apply what is learned in photography to other art forms and subject areas and to careers. This course aligns with the California Visual and Performing Arts Standards, grades 9-12.
