FBLA Places at State, Qualifies for Nationals!

AGAIN! These kids are amazing!

Yorba Linda HS FBLA is making it's mark at state level competition second year in a row. FBLA State Leadership Conference was held April 6th through 9th in Sacramento at the Sacramento Convention Center. Over 2500 FBLA student members were competing in events covering everything from Healthcare Administration, Economics, Advertising, Global Business, Hospitality Management and more! Students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in ALL of our classes in so many different events.

This year, 18 students competed at the state level competition (last year we only had five students compete!). Six of our members qualified at the regional level to compete: Amanda Walion, Harshal Vaza, Bryson Bissonnette, Dhruv Chaddah, Ravi Patel, and Raj Vaza in their respective events. Many students joined us to compete at state level competitions, one of them was Sumesh Rawal who won 3rd place for Client Service. This qualifies him to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in June!

Two team events were entered at the state level and their prejudged component qualified them to complete the performance event in Sacramento to a panel of judges: Introduction to Business Presentation by Rachel Allsup and Sydnie Chin (top 10 in the state); and Social Media Campaign by Nick Ding and Zachary Co (top 5 in the state). Final ranking after the performance: Rachel and Sydnie placed 5th in the state in their event. Nick and Zack placed 3rd in state for both components as well, which qualifies them for National Leadership Conference in June!

This was a great experience for all students that competed. YL FBLA chapter and myself thank you for your support! Many of you allowed them to practice presentations in your class, or excused them to study in the afternoons and it meant a lot to all of us.
