Transcripts to be sent during the school year:
The easiest way for a student to request their YLHS transcript is to click on the Parchment link above. This can be done from home and is available 24 hours a day. This request can be done for colleges, scholarships, common apps, and NCAA. Once your request has been made you will receive an e-mail from Parchment stating that they received your request. YLHS is then notified for release permission of the transcript; once YLHS gives permission, the transcript is sent by Parchment; once again you will get an e-mail from Parchment that they have sent the request. Many but not all colleges in California have set up with Parchment to receive transcripts. If you are sending a transcript to one of those schools you will also receive an e-mail from the college. If the college isn't set up to receive the transcript via Parchment then it will be sent via the mail by Parchment. This entire process should take 1-2 days. Remember the YLHS grading timeline; if it is near the semester that you are requesting a transcript for and you want the semester grades to appear you will need to give YLHS the time they need to process grades and post them to history. Parchment has our time line so when they ask you if you want to send it "now" or after semester grades are posted please be aware of the added days to complete the request.
It is important that the student log on and register with Parchment with their own account to request the transcript. WARNING: STUDENTS MUST REGISTER WITH PARCHMENT WITH THEIR LEGAL NAME AS SHOWN ON THE STUDENT SYSTEM AT YLHS. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO DO THIS THEN PARCHMENT CAN'T MATCH YOU TO OUR SYSTEM; THEREFORE THERE WILL BE DELAYS IN THE PROCESS. REMEMBER LEGAL NAME ONLY. EXAMPLE: ZACHARY NOT ZACK.
Transcripts can also be requested at the school. Student will need to bring in a business sized envelope STAMPED with 1 stamp addressed to the college with their name on the inside flap to the counseling office. DO NOT PUT A RETURN ADDRESS ON IT. Remember that this process will take longer than the Parchment process so plan ahead for a 2-5 day process at YLHS then add additional time for the mail and college processing.
APPLYING FOR COLLEGES or NCAA: Students needing a transcript sent to a college prior to their final transcript in June, may request one through Parchment on the link above.
SENIORS FINAL TRANSCRIPTS: All seniors going to college will be asked by the college to have their high school send their FINAL transcript to the institution where they plan to attend. There are three ways to request a FINAL transcript from YLHS.
Option #1: Electronic Processing - Method preferred by the colleges
Students are able to order an YLHS FINAL transcript online to be sent to their college of choice through the district's provider Parchment. The cost to send a transcript is $5.00 per request. Transcripts will be released from YLHS to Parchment the last week of June. No electronic requests will be accepted after June 22, 2017. You will be notified by Parchment that your transcript has been sent.
Option #2: US Mail
Student will bring a business sized white envelope (not large manila envelope), STAMPED, addressed to the college with the student's name clearly printed on the inside flap, do not write a return address on the envelope. Bring it to the Counseling Office and place it in the Final Transcript Request Basket on the counter for processing. Transcripts will be mailed the last week of June and no transcript will be processed after June 22nd at 1:00 p.m. This process takes 5-10 days for the college to receive the transcript and you will not be notified by YLHS that your transcript was sent.
Option #3: PYLUSD Records Office
During the summer when YLHS is closed, students may request their transcript through the district records office. Contact the records office at 714 985-8762.
