Vocal Ensemble (Period 1)

This course is a year-long ensemble course open to intermediate/advanced male and female singers by audition only in grades 9-12.  Students are expected to be the top choral musicians at Yorba Linda High while continuing to develop advanced vocal and musicianship skills.  Students study and perform intermediate/advanced literature for mixed voices.  The students are expected to match pitch, excel in sight-reading skills, and present high level performances.  This ensemble performs at all outside performances and events according to the course calendar including, but not limited to, two District Concerts (Winter/Spring), Holiday Concert (Jingles), Seasons of Love Concert in February, and the Spring Concert.  Prerequisites: All students are selected by audition according to their musical proficiency, vocal ability, and motivation.
