This notice discloses the privacy practices for all YLHS mobile games and applications (collectively known as "apps" for the remainder of this document) created by student developers for Yorba Linda High School, Yorba Linda, California.  This notice refers to all YLHS mobile games and applications released on the Google Play Store and the Apple iOS App Store (collectively known as "app stores" for the remainder of this document). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by all YLHS mobile games and applications for these app stores.  It will notify you of the following:

  • What personally identifiable information is collected and with whom it may be shared.
  • What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
  • The procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
  • How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information created and collected within our apps. However, we only have access to and/or collect information that you voluntarily give us within our apps. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone for any reason.  Our only use of your information will be within these apps, or within online services connected to these apps.  For example, one of our game apps might use a MySQL database to track high scores within the game.  We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request or to use services necessary within our apps.

Your Access to and Control Over Information
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time by uninstalling our apps from your mobile device. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given within this privacy policy:

  • See what data we have about you, if any.
  • Change/correct any data we have about you, if any.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you, if any.
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Security
We take precautions to protect your information. Since all of our apps are free and created by high school students for course credit, we DO NOT collect credit card, address, phone number, or other sensitive information.  Our apps only use the information you provide within the apps, and at no time are you asked to register to use one of our apps, or provide sensitive personal information in order to use one of our apps.  Our applications are free of charge, and we do not include advertising content within our apps.

If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact Mr. Dan Eliot, Mobile Game Development teacher, using the information at the end of this document.

Browser Cookies

Some of our mobile apps may use built in browser components to provide web browsing, mapping, database, or other Internet based functionality within the app.  As such, your mobile device may use "cookies" to provide a smooth browsing experience.  Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information that we collect, and instead is used solely within the app itself to provide necessary services.

Information Policy Regarding 3rd Party Service:
We are a public high school, and the apps we provide are free of charge, and are part of graded student assignments at the high school level.  As such, we DO NOT partner with third parties for advertising revenue, or for financial gain.  At all times, we only collect minimal information necessary to make our apps functional.

However, we DO partner with 3rd parties to provide specific services within apps. For example, our apps may use services such "Google Maps".  These 3rd parties are provided the minimal personally identifiable information necessary to allow the services to remain functional.  In many cases (and whenever possible), we use these services with our own account IDs and avoid using your account information when possible.
