Welcome to my classroom.  My name is Mr. Cole and I have been teaching in the Placentia Yorba Linda School District for over 20 years.  I graduated The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.  I worked as a Civil Engineer in southern California for 18 years before becoming a teacher.  I received my teaching credential from the California State University, Fullerton.  I also have a Master's Degree in Education form Concordia University, Irvine.

This year I am teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 1A. You will need the following materials for class:
  • single subject notebook (for math only) or a 3-ring binder to organize your notes
  • pencil (required for all work, not ink) and color pencils for corrections
  • lined (notebook filler paper, college ruled) paper and graph paper (1/4" squares)
 
Student Expectations
 
Be ready to learn
  • be in your seat when the tardy bell rings (school tardy policy is strictly enforced)
  • bring required materials to class each day (notebook, pencil, homework)
 
Be responsible
  • keep class materials and other's possessions from being damaged
  • when you are absent, make sure all your homework and classwork is complete
  • cell phones need to be turned off and in your backpack (not your pocket); school cell phone policy will be strictly enforced
 
Be respectful
  • treat everyone and everything in the class fairly and with dignity
  • respect and follow the school rules outlined in the YLHS Student Handbook
  • respect the ideas of others by not interrupting them when they are talking
  • learn from each other at all times, especially during collaborative group work
  • follow the academic honesty policy as outlined in the YLHS Student Handbook
