Welcome to Yorba Linda High School – Opening Day – September 8, 2009 – was a very special day for our students, staff and community. 950 freshmen and sophomore students gathered in our new gym for announcements and opening day activities before taking a tour of their new school with first period teachers. Parents were also given the opportunity to see the campus and experience the excitement of our very first day at YLHS.

	Honorary Service Award Nominations The PTSA is accepting nominations for individuals who have distinguished themselves in volunteer service to the schools and to the students. Nomination forms can be found on the PTSA homepage. Deadline to email the form is Feb. 12th.
	YLHS Men's Soccer Parking Lot Rummage Sale The Men's Soccer teams are hosting two main activities this month: Rummage Sale and Dodgeball Tournament. Our rummage sale was rained out and has been rescheduled for Sat. 2/27/2010. We are also accepting donations. See details.

	Storm Update: 2pm, 01-19-2010 Storm Update: 2pm, 01-19-2010. During the past hour, YLHS was hit with a major storm cell, including rain, high winds, and lightning. Students were kept in their 5th period classes for an extended period until the storm danger passed. The weather is now back to "normal".
