National Signing Day

February 3, 2021

Welcome Mustang athletes, families, friends and community members.  Today is a great day and one of my favorites.  I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate these young men and women on their accomplishments and hard work over the years.  The Yorba Linda High School staff and administration are very proud of all of you for your commitment and leadership in class and in competition.  It’s a great honor to call you Mustangs.

To the Parents,

I would also like to thank you for all your time and efforts over the years.  It often goes unnoticed but as a parent myself, I do understand the long days and nights that often come along with youth athletics.  The endless drives to and from practices and games, the countless loads of laundry with dirty uniforms and tireless commitment to your sons and daughters.  Thank you for all that you have and will continue to do.  It is appreciated even if it is not vocalized all the time. You should be proud and I know you are.

Athletics has become a major part of our lives.  Many of our YLHS staff and administration have played sports in college, including myself.  I hope it brings you a lifetime of memories and friendships as it has in my life.  That being said, it will also come with a lot of work and commitment and will not always be easy but if you are willing and able to stick it out, you will be grateful in the long run.  Congratulations to all of you and best of luck in the next chapter of your lives.  GO MUSTANGS.
