AND – the Gold Medal Winner Senior Class was decided at the all-school rally lip-sync competition.  Great Job EVERYONE!!!

Did You Hear?  -

 YLHS Wrestling Program and head coach Brian Fortenbaugh have the following students participating in CIF Championships: Nicki Sudol  and her twin sister Kami Sudol qualified for the CIF SS Girls Championship @ Eleanor Roosevelt High School today and Saturday.  The top 8 will go to the state finals.  Luis Ortiz, Kavika Aholelei, Christian Gomez, Willis Fedrick, Justin Loseman, Max Ko, George Millan, and Josh Madrigal will be competing in the CIF SS Championship next weekend at Brea Olinda High School.  Good luck Mustangs!

YLHS Men’s Soccer with head coach Kino and Women’s Soccer Alex are both 2018 co-league champions.  Congratulations to both programs!!  On Monday our tems will find out when and who they compete against in CIF SS playoffs.  Go Mustangs!!


  More Good News  -   Last Wednesday night, Student Services presented "College 101" as part of our

  Mustang University series sponsored by the YLHS PTSA.  The presentation was an overview of the UC,

  CSU, Private and Community College options.  We had over 150 parents and students in attendance.  A Big

  Thank You to Nancy Coulter, Peyton Pike and Lori Walls for helping our parents and students learn about

  what to expect  in college.

Congratulations to YLHS student Bella Vino for being crowned Miss Placentia 2018 and YLHS student Paulina Dole for being crowned Miss Placentia’s Outstanding Teen in the Miss Placentia & Miss Yorba Linda Scholarship Pageant last Friday evening.  Bella  is 2nd from left in the picture and Paulina is on the far right. 

Last Thursday evening the 2018 Orange County Mock Trial Awards were handed out.  Mustang, Wayne Chan was recognized as one of the top pre-trial attorneys in the county.  The awards program was held at UCI. Congratulations Wayne and our YLHS Coach Noelle Toxqui.


USA Young Physicists Tournament took place last month with YLHS students, Derrick Lin, Kevin Li, Ke Ni and Haifan Chen placing 3rd at the tournament and won the prestigious Bibishiuilli Medal for Excellence in Physics.  They were from the only public school to be invited to the competition and competed against eam from USA, China and Tunisia.  Congratulations Mustangs!!
