Final Exam in Google Classroom

Final Exam

Final Exam Instructions:
*** The test covers chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6
*** It will be worth either 100 OR 150 points (I haven't decided yet)
*** It is not multiple choice -- it will be taken through webassign (as with all of the other tests this year) -- ALL problems must be solved using algebraic and trigonometric techniques as shown in class.
*** Graphing calculators are allowed -- BUT they cannot be used as a way of solving a problem. You can use it to check an answer. You can use it to help you make computations go faster.
But in your work, I cannot see : "use calculator to get my answer".
*** If your homework grade for the semester is 90% (or above), then I will drop your lowest "chapter test" score. You may not have the score on the final exam dropped (even if it is your lowest score). The final exam score does not replace the lowest test score.
*** No outside sources are allowed to help you on this test. You will receive a zero for the entire test if you do.
*** You can use your notes to help you during the test.

Chapter 2 Performance Task in Google Classroom

Chapter 2 Performance Task

As you do the assignment, you must SHOW ALL WORK -- (think about it like you were teaching it to a younger student). I don't just care about the correct answer, I care about how you explain and organize your thoughts.

Some chapters you will find easier than others. Some are good application problems (when are we ever going to use this / how does this apply to the real world) and others are simply good challenging problem to push your math skills and problem solving strategies further. My goal is to get students to think "outside the box", not just mimic what I do in class during the lesson.

Have fun!!!

Chapter 1 Performance Task

In the future, I will give this out at the beginning of the chapter. I didn't want to confuse/overwhelm you about this on the first couple of days of school.
This assignment take what we have learned a little deeper. The problems are more challenging.

As you do the assignment, you must SHOW ALL WORK -- (think about it like you were teaching it to a younger student). I don't just care about the correct answer, I care about how you explain and organize your thoughts.

The chapter 1 test is scheduled for Thursday (9/24/20) from 9:40 to 10:55.
I completed the test in 15 minutes, so I will give you 4 times that amount, 60 minutes. (Normally, the multiplier is times 3 -- but because of technology issues, you get an extra 15 minutes).
You need to SHOW ALL WORK for credit. Even if you have the correct answer, with no work, you will not get the points on it.
NO graphing calculators are allowed on this test (all work must be shown completely).
You must submit your work to google classroom by 10:55 am on Thursday (9/24/20).

There are two questions that have you graph the answer -- you do not need to graph them (I have zeroed out the points on the graph part of the problem) -- SKIP GRAPHING
