I Have A Dream Speech Contest Attendance
10 points extra credit will be given to any of my economic students that attend (as an audience member) the I Have A Dream Speech Contest Finals on Thursday, June 6th at 7pm in the Gymnasium
There will be a sign-in sheet at the entrance and a sign-out sheet at the exit. To earn the 10 points, you must attend the entire contest (it should last until 8:30pm) and partial credit will not be awarded.
Admission is free but donations to the Moore, Oklahoma Tornado Recovery Effort will be gladly accepted.

I Have A Dream Speech Contest Opportunity
25 Points Extra Credit and a Chance To Win A Scholarship
After school on Tuesday, June 4th, the first round of the I Have A Dream Speech Contest will take place. The first round will take place in Room 307 (there is a signup sheet posted outside my door).
Participants will give their 3-5 minute speech that they wrote centered around the theme "I Have A Dream". This speech must be about a vision for the future that you hope to see. You must discuss at least two ways in which your vision can be a reality.
20 or so contestants will move on to the finals on Friday, June 6th at 7pm in the gym.
1st Place - $200 Scholarship
2nd Place - $150 Scholarship
3rd Place - $100 Scholarship
provided by the Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary club.
Any of my students that advances and gives their speech in the finals will earn 25 extra credit points.

Commercial Video Project
You will need to submit a video commercial where you creatively sell a unique product
You must emphasize differences (perceived or real) in your product and why it’s superior to your competition
You can work in groups of up to 4 people (no exceptions). Minimum time requirement of 45 seconds per person in a group (2 person group needs a 90 second commercial, 4 person group needs a 180 second commercial)
To get full points,
- you must be seen contributing to the commercial
- Must be classroom/school appropriate! Zero out of 35 points have been given in the past!
- The video file must be brought in using a flash drive or a CD-R or DVD-R
- Do not include ending credits or blooper scenes

Choose 5 corporations that you think will increase in value over the next 2 weeks. These corporations' stocks must be at least $5 per share on the day that the assignment is due. Only 2 of these stocks can be in the same industry. The other 3 must be in different industries/markets.
TYPE (this assignment will NOT be accepted if it is not in the format of a the YLHS Research Paper Style Guide) a paragraph for each of the 5 corporations
