ASCP (Academic Studies & Career Planning) (Period 5)

Course Description

ASCP (Academic Studies and Career Planning) is a 1 semester course and graduation requirement in the PYLUSD designed to initially help your child make a smooth transition from middle school to the new and faster paced high school environment. The first course of study is an introduction unit designed to acclimate the student to the campus, teachers, administration, procedures, rules and regulations, school culture, athletics, extracurricular opportunities and academic requirements.

                The remainder of the course is broken into a number of sections designed to aid your child to become a more productive and efficient student, to understand their own individual intellectual strengths and their weakness which need to be improved, and finally to get them to look to the future and start to formulate a post-secondary plan and explore their career aptitude.
