Principal's Weekly Update #26

Congratulations – Employee of the Year - Claudia Welch - We always knew she was “our” employee of the year, but now the entire district knows what a terrific person and fellow staff member she truly is! Thank you, Claudia, for all you do and have done at El Dorado, Esperanza and now at YLHS – You lead our STAMPEDE.

WASC - Thank you everyone for your preparation welcoming our visitation team from WASC. They had a great day! You will receive a copy of ALL of their comments for each “Criterion.” The final recommendation is sent to WASC and we should receive a letter by late April.

Sophomore Class - This Wednesday evening will be a special one for our sophomore class. We have our very first Sophomore class ring ceremony in the library starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the National Honor Society Induction ceremony at 6:30 p.m. We welcome you to join us at these events.

Mustang Pride Day
- was a huge success last Saturday, March 20th. Jason Kaylor, along with ASB and the PTSA organized over 150 students into specific groups that were assigned areas to clean and polish. A Big Thank you to Jason and staff members:  Jennifer Graves, Lorri Walls, Colin Domene, Jennifer Pilkenton, Jon Aed, Brent Hendry, Alice Lin, Ric Haulenbeck, Colleen Hayashi, Fred Fonseca, PTSA Parents

It was a great morning and the campus looked great. Check the OC Register online and Thursday’s YL STAR newspaper for pictures and story HERE.

GREASE is (was) the word! - I hope all of you had the opportunity to see the YLHS production of GREASE. It was TERRIFIC!! Watching our student perform, you forget they are only freshmen and sophomores, (except Vince Fontaine – he is close to “senior” status.) Thank you, Cathy Petz, for a great production and Shea Runge and Jason Kaylor for all the extra hours working with the kids.
