Staffing for the 2010-2011 Year - continues with the addition of another great Science teacher – Jean Jacquot. Jean joins us from Esperanza where he has taught Chemistry and Physics for six years. Welcome to YLHS – Jean!

The 1st YLHS Blood Drive - was a great success in meeting and exceeding the Red Cross Club’s goal. An email from Susan Patton, Senior Manager Biomedical Services says it all: “Congratulations, YLHS American Red Cross Club! You made over your goal at 105% due to excellent recruiting efforts and the generosity of all the donors. We collected 44 units of blood at the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, May 21, 2010. Approximately 132 lives will be saved in Southern California. On behalf of the patients in hospitals in all of Southern California and their family and friends a huge thank you for sharing your hearts. You all did an awesome job of recruiting and participating the day of the drive. Our staff commented on how nice, friendly and polite everyone was and hope they can come back again. I agree. YLHS ROCKS!”
