Principal's Weekly Update #47

NOCCC Rooms - Modernization of the “400” building starts today, December 6th. The area is fenced off to separate students from the construction work. The company will be using a section of the parking lot near the forum to store equipment and materials. A PACE announcement has gone out to our parents and students to let them know that the drop-off and pick-up areas near the forum has been modified to provide access for the construction company. Kino will be out there Monday morning to help re-direct the traffic flow.

The project timeline for this phase of the project is:
December 6 – April 15, 400 building.
April 15 – June 20 Modernization of the 300 building
June 20 – September 1 Modernization of the Forum Theater
This modernization project includes interior and exterior work on the three buildings, with exterior work on the administration building for La Entrada.

YLHS stadium and pool projects are still on track for completion in March/April 2011.
Great.

Great Holiday Music – Come and hear our very own YLHS students perform at their holiday programs:
Renaissance Event – Choir December 7th @ 7:00 in the Forum Theater
Band & Orchestra Holiday Concert December 8th @ 7:00 in the gym
It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

Big Thank You to Teiko Ikemoto – our Japanese teacher, for all her time and efforts to bring 40 students from Taisei High School in Japan for a visit to our school. It was a terrific opportunity for our students to exchange ideas and school experiences with 40 – 16 & 17 year old Japanese students. Thank you also goes to Jason Kaylor and ASB for their time to help make this a memorable event for everyone involved.

Don’t Forget - Wednesday, December 15th PTSA Staff Appreciation luncheon – location TBA
