Congratulations to 52 YLHS students – who were inducted into the National Honor Society last Thursday evening. NHS faculty advisor, Carmen Nicholson, and student leaders, Lila Blackwell, Alyssa Freeland, Lauren Kanjaki, Jessica Welsh and Patrick Morgan presented the NHS ideals for Scholarship, Service, Character and Leadership. Please note the following memo – from Facilities and Planning regarding our new stadium lights: “As you may have noticed the districts’ Shapell Stadium at Yorba Linda High School has been under construction over the past several months. Now that we are nearing the completion of the project, the stadium lighting has to be tested. Two tests will be conducted to ensure that the lights are operating correctly. One test will occur on March 16, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in which the lights will be calibrated. The second test is a ‘test burn’ in which the lights stay on for a continuous period up to 24 hours. The ‘test burn’ will be conducted on March 17, 2011 from 12 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day. After the continuous ‘test burn’ is complete, the lights will function under normal time frames”. A PACE announcement will be going out to our community on Monday evening.
District Survey - Don’t forget to complete the district survey by March 17th. Again, a big thank you to our Social Science department for having their 10th & 11th grade students complete their survey during class.
