Theater Arts Department under the direction of Cathy Petz presents – “The Iliad, The Odyssey and all of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less” - opening November 16 – 19th at 7:00 p.m. and November 19th matinee at 2:00 p.m. in our Forum Theater. This is a great chance to see our YLHS drama students in action. “Break a leg.”

Did you Hear?!!
- Brent Hendry’s ceramics students made 100 bowls over the last month for a charity called Canning Hunger. Canyon Hills Women’s Club asked our students to make the bowls for their charity event. Each bowl sold for $25, which included soup donated from ten local restaurants. Three of our YLHS students, along with Brent, Kelly and Carol participated in the event last weekend. All proceeds from the event, including the $100 Women’s Club donation to our Art Department, were donated to the charity. This was a great way to give back to our community.

Career Day 2011 – was a great day! Fifty speakers presented their professions to our students. Several emails were received after the event:
From a parent – “Thank you so much for Career Day at YLHS. My son (a senior) got home full of enthusiasm as he spoke about listening to the speakers.”
From a Presenter – “I have been doing Career Day for many years. Today was very rewarding. The students were not only extremely well behaved, but attentive and enthusiastic. Thank you for the opportunity. You are all doing a wonderful job and I am proud that my child is in your hands for his education.”

Again – a BIG THANK YOU to our PTSA President, Melinda Shank and Career Day coordinator, Evie Marshall along with our staff – Jennifer Graves, Shea Runge, Kelly Buchan and all of you for making our presenters feel welcome!

Did You See? – All the new materials Roseann got donated to our library from Irvine Valley College? – a 22 volume set - Annals of American, along with 7 resource books for student use in the library – Thank you, Roseann.
