Principal's Weekly Update #86

Congratulations to - Men’s Basketball - and Coach Pietsch for their CIF play-off victory Wednesday, night at Temple City. Next round CIF will be home on Friday night @ 7:00 vs. Servite.

Congratulations also to – Women’s Basketball - and Coaches Hill and Moore who will start their CIF run Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in our gym.

Women’s Water Polo
– plays today, Thursday @ 3:15 at our home pool. Good luck Lady Mustangs!!
Women’s Soccer - plays Friday at San Luis Obispo in the 1st round of CIF - Good luck to our soccer Lady Mustangs too!!

– (Orange County Academic Decathlon) for the medals won in Division 3 competition recently. Medal winners are:
Greg Lynch – 5th in Science, 5th in Art and 1st in Essay
Steve Cheng – 4th in Math
Dakota Millsap – 5th in Econ, 5th in Interview
Kurt Ibaraki – 5th in Essay
John Qian – 4th in Essay, 3rd in Speech

Did you Know? – Our library count for student usage is over 6,000 as of January 2012.
Thank you Roseann, Susan and Marlisa for all your time with class instruction and helping individual students. This is a GREAT resource for YLHS students and staff.

– A Big Thank You to – our Counselors for the YLHS Community College Night. Over 125 parents and students came to hear our presentation on Cypress, Santiago, Fullerton and Orange Coast Colleges. Thank you Nancy, Lorri and Peyton.
