Principal's Weekly Update #90

Did you Hear? - The YLHS String Orchestra will be the featured high school ensemble at the distrift
Elementary Honors Concert held on Thursday, March 22nd at the Valencia HS auditorium. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free! Everyone is welcome and you will hear how talented our students are.

YLHS Theater Department – production of “Lucky Stiff” is in full swing. If you missed the opening week, you can still see it on March 21 – 24 at 7:00 p.m. and a matinee on the 24th at 2:00 in the forum Theater.

“PI” Day – March 14 - (3.14) was a big success and involved all of our students. A Big Thank You to our Math Department and our Math Club for another “get connected” activity.

College 101 Night - We had over 250 students and parents attend our “College 101 Information Night” in the Library on Wednesday night. A Big Thank You to our counselors, Lorri Walls, Nancy Coulter, and Peyton Pike for making this important night happen.

CAHSEE Exam - was administered this past Tuesday and Wednesday to all sophomores. Thank you to
Richard Cadra, Colin Domene, Stacy Shube, Brian Fortenbaugh, Wendy Lowry, Mike Moore, Kristy Stedman, Roseanne Kosulandich, Scott Mazurier, Valerie Steinbergs, Donna Brothers and our wonderful PTSA parent volunteers that helped proctor the tests. A Big Thank You to Kathy Rodieck in counseling for organizing the exam.

Mustang Pride Day – March 24th, 8-12 – This is a great opportunity for our students to earn community service hours and help clean their “home away from home”. If you have a club or team that you want to bring to our Pride Day, let us know. All staff members are welcome to get involved and enjoy a day in the sunshine.

Our district will be helping with our campus clean-up/beautification with new plants in a variety of areas. Hope to see you all there!
