Academic Mustang Achievement Awards - sponsored by our PTSA will be next Monday, April 30th at 6:30 p.m. at Friends Church on Lakeview. Our PTSA will be recognizing 37 seniors, 57 juniors, 53 sophomores and 59 freshmen for their GPA of 4.0 and higher at YLHS. Their guest speaker is Hooman Hefzi, an Esperanza 2007 graduate, class Valedictorian and 4-year member of the Esperanza Distinguished Aztecs. Everyone is welcome to attend and watch our students receive their special recognitions. Counselors will also give a short bio on our Seniors that have cumulative 7 semester 4.0 and higher GPA’s. This is a terrific program. Thank you PTSA and especially, Sondia Buscaino, Academic Mustang chairman!

Don’t Forget – The 17th Annual Exhibition of Student Art from April 23 – 26 at the PYLUSD Educational
Services Center (ESC) – 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. It is very exciting to see how talented our students are.

Did your Hear?

YLHS Orchestras earned “superior” rating at the SCSBOA Orchestra festival before spring break. “Superior” is the highest rating possible and I had the privilege of introducing the combined YLHS/EHS orchestra at the evening performance. They sounded GREAT!!! Thank you, Phil Mortensen.

German National Honors Society inducted 41 students. A Big Thank You to Sissi Mueller and Christine Collins for providing our students the opportunity to be recognized for their hard work and academic performance in the German language class.

Our very own McKenna Morris has been selected to attend the 34th Annual Youth Citizenship Seminar at Pepperdine University. Congratulations, McKenna!

Mark your Calendar – for the YLHS Senior Awards Night, May 21, 6:30 p.m. at the Yorba Linda Community center. The awards committee has worked very hard to plan our very 1st Senior Awards Night. Thank you, Bincins Garcia, for chairing the committee.
