Principal's Weekly Update #110

Don’t Forget – Club Advisors and Coaches Meeting - IMPORTANT – All coaches and club advisors must  attend this meeting, Monday (today), 7:15 a.m. in the library.  Goodies will be provided by ASB. Invitations and agenda have been sent out to all the “special” guests.   Thank you in advance for sponsoring a club or activity on campus.  You help our students “get connected”.

Did you Hear? – Our YLHS Band and Color Guard have been invited to the 2012 Field Championship on December 1st at Arcadia High School.  The SCSBOA Band Championships are reserved for “the best of the best” in each of six competing classifications.  YLHS has been selected because of their outstanding performances in the 2012 fall parade and field show competitions.  Good luck YLHS Band and Color Guard in the Direction of Bincins Garcia and Mario Corona.  Go Mustangs!!

Change of WASC Chair – Over Thanksgiving break we received a message from Jan Oonchitti that she has accepted a position teaching in China.  Our new WASC Chair will be Dr. William J. Brinegar, retired Assistant  Superintendent.  Talking with Dr. Brinegar, he has chaired many WASC visitations and is looking forward to reading our report and meeting the staff this month.  We have invited him to our Holiday Potluck on December 19 th so he can see we are fun, fun, fun!

The Miracle Worker  - is being presented by our Drama Department from December 11 – 15.  Cathy Petz has been working very hard with our drama students to bring us this great production.  It runs at 7:00 p.m. each night with a matinee on December 15 at 2:00 p.m.  It’s always a great night to see our talented students perform!

Did you See! -  Last week Joe Walls (proud parents Lorri and Greg Walls) was the OC Register Scholar Athlete of the Week!  Congratulations to Joe and his parents!
