Did you Hear? - Two of our Culinary Arts students, Tyler Gough and Travis Gough, along with teacher, Jenni Messick, prepared and served food for the NOCROP WASC Accreditation visit last Sunday, April 21st. Along with Dr. Mike Worley, ROP Superintendent, there were several district Superintendents, Principals and Directors from Orange County who enjoyed the spring rolls they prepared, along with talking to them about our Academy.  In addition, next Friday, two of our students will be competing against other high school students in the Cypress College Culinary School knife cutting competition. This event is organized by the Culinary Arts PLC. The other students will be from several high schools; Los Amigos, Edison, Fountain Valley, Western, Garden Grove, etc. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Our YLHS culinary students competing are Brandon Gee and Justine Read. Good luck Mustangs!!

PTSA – Academic Mustang Awards is Monday, April 29th at 6:30 at Yorba Linda Friends Church - on Lakeview Ave. Everyone is invited to recognize our YLHS students who have earned a 4.0 grade point during their freshmen, sophomore or junior year. Seniors with an overall (7 semester) 4.0 will receive an award and the YLHS counseling staff will talk about their individual successes and future plans. This is a great evening to honor our students for their hard work.  A Big Thank You to YLHS PTSA and coordinator/chair Safeera Lari, along with the AMA committee, Sondia Busciano, Raquel Quast, Tricia Silver-Livermore, Alice Chapin, Jennifer Stevens and Melinda Shank.
