Congratulations to “EVERYONE” - for a terrific first week! We have 1740 students on campus and I have heard many positive comments from students, parents and staff. Jamie and the counselors are working to balance several “full” classes by the end of this week. Our goal is to have everyone settled into their schedule for Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 18th. Again, THANK YOU!! This is a great school because of “all” you do!
Did you Hear? - Cary Johnson, Director of Secondary Education & Candy Plahy, Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services sent the following message to our PYLUSD School Board and Superintendent Dr. Domene: “Yorba Linda has joined an elite group of high schools in Orange County that have cracked an API score of 900. The scores of only 8 other Orange County high schools exceed this mark. The club becomes even more limited when you exclude small specialized schools (Oxford Academy) and magnet schools (Troy, OCSA). This leaves only four comprehensive high
schools that have broken this barrier: Corona del Mar, Northwood, University, and Yorba Linda. And of these four schools, only Yorba Linda and Northwood met growth targets for all their subgroups. Additionally, YLHS had four significant subgroups as opposed to two for Northwood. Congratulations YLHS!

* 2013 SAT Results – 40-60 points higher than the state average
