Principal's Weekly Update #138

Did you Hear? – Mustang University 2013-14 held its first “class” for parents this year on October 2nd. Our Counseling department started off this years informational nights with “Senior College Night”. Over 100 parents attended the presentation on applying to CSU’s, UC’s and private colleges. Scattergrams were provided for parents to see the admission statistics for last years graduating class. Scattergrams indicate students’ college acceptance with SAT scores and GPA’s. This is the first of nine Mustang University “classes” presented by our YLHS counselors and sponsored by our YLHS PTSA. Future classes include:
  • How to Write a College Essay October 16th
  • Financial Aid Night December 4th
  • Community College Night January 15th
  • AP Honors Night January 22nd
  • Mock SAT, ACT or PRA (Saturday) February 8th
  • College 101 Night February 19th
  • AP Assignment Night May 28th
A Big Thank You to our counselors for all of the parent night presentations and our PTSA for sponsoring each of these informational nights.
