Career Day 2013 – Wednesday, November 13th is our annual Career Day. We will have approximately 55 community members on campus as guest speakers for our students. The morning schedule is:
• 8:30 – 9:00 Guest speakers check in at the Library
• 9:00 – 9:10 Announcements and updates for our presenters
• 9:11 – 9:21 Students escort our presenters to their classroom
• 9:26 – 10:01 Session I
• 10:11 – 10:46 Session II
• 10:56 – 11:31 Session III
• Presenters are invited back to the Library for a luncheon provided by out PTSA.
Career Day Packets were placed in your mailbox on Friday with the name of your speaker and tickets for all three sessions to give to your students. ON TUESDAY make sure to give your 3rd period students the list of presenters. Please take time to remind your students to choose their presenters carefully because many of the room fill up quickly. The full “Career Day Schedule” is attached.
Students will report to your 3rd period with a ticket from each presentation they attended. This is a terrific opportunity for our students and community to interact, along with cultivating an interest for our students in future plans involving post-secondary education and school-to-career training. Did you Hear? - Phil Mortenson – District Visual/Performing Arts Coordinator and our own YLHS Orchestra Director was recognized at the district office for “25 years of service” to PYLUSD! Congrats – Phil!!
YLHS Theater Department’s Fall Plays – “Tracers” and “A Piece of My Heart” will be presented this week, November 14, 15 and 16. Our students do a terrific job bringing the real life experiences of the Vietnam War!
