Women’s Water Polo - lost a close game Saturday night in CIF Division 6 finals at Irvine Aquatics Center against Palm Desert. Great job and season Lady Mustangs and first year Coach Jessica Ernst!
Women’s Basketball - traveled to Santa Barbara for the CIF semi-final game with Santa Barbara High School. Again, it was a close game with a 48 – 41 loss to Santa Barbara. Congratulations Lady Mustangs and first year Coach Teiko Ikemoto and assistant Allison Burns for a very exciting post-season!
Women’s Soccer - plays today after being postponed from last Friday. Good Luck – Lady Mustangs!
Congratulations to Men’s Wrestling - Abe Ochoa finished 2nd in the Master’s Meet and is on his way with Coach Forty to the CA State CIF Wrestling Meet this Friday in Bakersfield. Abe beat the #4 ranked wrestler in California in the semi’s to reach the finals. Good Luck – Abe!! And Forty!!
Did You Hear? - YLHS yearbook, under the direction of Sarah Shay, was featured in the “Jostens – best of the best” publication highlighting the best of 2013 yearbooks. This publication is viewed by 3000 high schools and displays yearbooks with outstanding themes and production in high school yearbooks. Congratulations Sarah and your students!
More Good News - Scholastic Art and Writing Awards selected Blair Becker’s poetry and flash fiction to receive the Gold Key and Silver Key Award respectively. In 23014, more than 255,000 works nationwide were submitted for consideration by the Alliance of Young Artists and Writers. Congratulations, Blair for your creative writing and Mrs. St. Amant for integrating this activity into the AP curriculum. Great Job!!
