Congratulations YLHS!! A 2015 CA Gold Ribbon School Award & Exemplary Program in Arts Education Award - State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Torklason announced that 180 high schools will be honored with the California Gold Ribbon Award. “These schools are academically successful, vibrant and innovative centers of learning and teaching.” Torklason stated, “They provide great examples of the things educators are doing right – embracing rigorous academic standards, providing excellence and creativity in teaching and creating a positive school climate.”
In addition to being chosen as a Gold Ribbon School, the YLHS Arts program is one of 38 schools to be given the additional honor of being selected as having an Exemplary Program in Arts Education. This recognizes the outstanding programs our Mustangs have in music, art, theater, dance, film, video production & animation.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for creating a school which is “second to none”. The staff, students and community are living proof that “working together – WORKS”.
