Did Your Hear? – Mustang University 2016 -17 - The Counseling Office and PTSA held the first Mustang University presentation Wednesday night with approximately 100 senior parents in attendance. Topics covered were: College application, timelines, letters of recommendation, transcripts, college entrance scattergrams and tips on choosing the right college. A Big Thank You to our Counseling Department, Greg Kemp, Lorri Walls, Nancy Coulter, Peyton Pike and PTSA coordinators, Sondia Buscaino & Barb Buckley.

After School Library Hours - Our library/media center is now open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Before and after school tutoring is available from our staff for Math, Language Arts, Spanish and Human Geography. NHS students offer help in all subjects after school. We are averaging 80+ students at 3:00 p.m. with a little over half of them staying until 5:00 p.m. doing research and homework. A Big Thank You to Sarah Phillips and Susan Yoshinaga for helping to keep the library open for our students, and all of our staff and student tutors!
PTSA Membership - Our PTSA is a terrific support for our school. Let’s support them by joining! It’s $16.00 for your annual membership. We have envelopes in the front office.
Canned Food Drive – October 3rd – October 13th – The annual Canned Food Drive against Esperanza is here! Did you know your combined efforts collected 20, 652 items of food last year? And that was just for YLHS! Starting October 3rd, ASB will be collecting can and Top Ramen every day during fourth period. It would be greatly appreciated if you could encourage your students to participate! The winning Language Arts class will win a special prize! Let’s get ready to “can” the Aztecs once again!
