Speech & Debate Cypress College Invitaional Results - The YLHS Speech and Debate team competed at the Cypress College Invitational and placed 4th in sweepstakes! Congratulations to Student Congress finalists Kulsoom Naqvi and Simran Chowdhry and to Nate Yi for placing 2nd, Caitlyn Truong for placing 4th, Wayne Chan for placing 8th and Brooke Gagnon for placing 1st as a Presiding Officer. Congratulations to Humorous Interpretation finalist Brandon Kuo, Dramatic Interpretation finalists Jordan Sain and Tianna White, Oratorical Interpretation finalist Raymond Nguyen, and Original Oratory finalist Kelly Nguyen. And congratulations to Impromptu finalists Jackie Pronk and Cassie Scigliano and to Daania Kalam for placing 3rd and Evan Yi for placing 1st.
2016-17 Mock Trial - competed at Orange County Court House in November and December. Sarah Reisinger, YLHS Team Attorney has been chosen to receive an award at the year-end ceremony in February. Teacher/advisor Noelle Toxqui and attorney/coach Shy Rou’se will be acknowledged at the awards program for their dedication and commitment to providing students a Mock Trial program.
