Principal's Weekly Update #250

Congratulations to everyone at YLHS for a terrific “Spirit Week” 2017!
Jeff Bailey and Mustang Football defeated the Aztecs 51 – 7.
Shardad Djanhangiry and Mustang Water Polo won their game earlier that day 9-3 against the Aztecs.
The Mustang students and staff AGAIN were victorious in the canned food drive for “2nd Harvest” food bank. 64,174 food items were collected and delivered for distribution to families in need. Each year our Mustangs contribute more and more food for this worthy cause.

Mustang Band and Guard - took first place in the Placentia Parade on Saturday 10/14. Also, Natalie Suvamasuddhi and Kyle Luke will represent YLHS on TV as they march down Colorado Blvd. in the Tournament of Roses Honor Band on January 1, 2018. Mustang Band and Guard will be marching down Main St. Disneyland on Saturday, 10/21. Great job, Mr. Garcia and the YLHS Entertainment Unit!

A Big Thank You to everyone’s participation in our emergency earthquake drill on Thursday. We hope we never need to use this training, but everyone followed Greg Kemp’s directions and we have a plan in place.

Did You Hear? - Mustang University continued its successful educational series for parents last Wednesday night with a presentation on Writing the College Essay. The PTSA hosted guest speak, David Han from Elite Prep, who spoke on the college application process and the daunted college application essay. David shared tips and examples with over 60 parents and students. Thank you to our PTSA for hosting another great event!!
