The 2017-2018 YLHS Academic Decathlon team fielded two full teams with three participating alternates. Our decathletes earned a plaque and recognition for our 4th Place finish overall for the Super Quiz component of the tournament and 8th overall as a team for Division 2.
Some key decathletes were:
Jackie Pronk, 1st place for speech, along with 9 other medals
William Russel, Gold Medals in essay, art, and interview along with 4 other medals
Sydney Baugh, Gold medals for essay, interview, and for art along with 2 other medals
Sabrina Villanueva, 4th place medal for music
Lauren Bui, 3rd place medal for interview
Nick Nivinskus, earned two silvers and two bronzes
Shiven Rawal, earned four medals
Cheryl Pham, 4th place medal for the literature component
