Senior Awards 2018 - was a terrific event recognizing over 200 of our seniors for earning $5.1 million dollars in scholarships and grants. 76 students were recognized with department awards:

Mustang Scholars Silver Awards and medals were handed out to 63 seniors. The evening ended with the presentation of our Salutatorian stoles to: Shawyun Foroushani & Minh-Khoi Tran and Valedictorian stole to Melody Tran. AND our Mustangs of the Year – Mikayla Buscaino & Nathan Yi.

A Big Thank You to Mark Honig and Peyton Pike for all their time and planning for the senior recognition awards, along with Claudia Welch for the program and invitations, Bincins Garcia and the Instrumental students for music, presenters Rich Cadra, Lloyd Walls, Bincins Garcia, Desi St Amant Peyton Pike and Mark Honig, the counselors and all the teachers that attended to support our students and award recipients. A Great Evening to be a MUSTANG! Thank You Everyone!!

Did You Hear? - YLHS PTSA has donated over $19,000 to 18 staff members for a variety of projects and equipment to be used in classrooms, the office and out on campus. PTSA will be providing umbrellas for the lunch tables near the theater quad, chromebooks and laptops for student use in the classroom, science equipment for hands on lab projects, student incentives for positive behavior, along with weight room equipment and a new mascot suit for student rallies. Thank you PTSA and President Miya Kim for all your support during the school year and your end of year donations to YLHS classrooms and programs. YLHS is truly a very special place because of parent/community support. Go Mustangs!!


2018 Community Member Recognition for YLHS - was Deputy Nick Doty. PYLUSD School Board honored Deputy Doty at the May 15th School Board Meeting. “Yorba Linda High School recognized Deputy Doty as its 2018 Community Honoree. Deputy Doty is the School Resource Officer for the City of Yorba Linda serving all of the schools in Yorba Linda. Deputy Doty is a product of PYLUSD schools and is proudly serving the community where he grew up. He is married to his high school sweetheart, April, and has two young sons, Nolan and Jace. Deputy Doty goes out of his way to get to know students on the Yorba Linda campus being a positive role model and person of character. He coordinates additional supervision with the OC Sheriffs for dances and sporting events as well as conducts staff training regarding school safety. You can find Deputy Doty at many YLHS school events supporting our students. Deputy Doty has become an integral part of the Mustang family who supports students, staff, and the community and is dedicated to serving the City of Yorba Linda.” Thank You Deputy Doty for all you do for students at school and in the community.
 
A Big Thank You Also - goes out to our PTSA Student Leadership Group and PTSA Parent Group for the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and Lunch the week of May 7 – 11. Great food and conversation. Thank you for taking the time to plan and decorate our library for the special day!!a
 
Another Big Thank You - to our Moms in Prayer for the treats they provided to our staff on Tuesday. Another parent group that supports our students and staff!!

And One Big Last Thank You - goes out to Jenni Messick and Culinary Arts class for the wonderful staff breakfast last Monday. Great way to start the week!! Fun for everyone!!
