Principal's Update #264

Congratulations - one more time to Shea Runge, PYLUSD Employee of the Year. This is a terrific recognition of all you do for our students and staff at YLHS. Thank you for working with 40 ASB students in planning our school year’s activities, working with club advisors and parent booster groups and most of all – Running with the STAMPEDE in developing Service - Teamwork - Achievement - Mastery – Passion – Ethics – Dedication – Excellence. You are the “connection” for all of us at YLHS.

Olympic Rally 2019 – was a lot of fun and great performances starting with the YLHS drumline, our very own Choir Director, Steven McCann, singing the National Anthem, along with performances by the award winning song team, cheer team, dance company and class competitions. I recommend our teacher dance team, Rey Lejano, Sarah Shay, Brent Hendry, Kevin Shanahan, Jeff Schumerth, Rich Cadra, Bincins Garcia, Stacy Shube and Dr. Dinh – DON’T give up your day job! Thank you everyone for a terrific assembly! Always fun!! A Big Thank You to Shea and ASB for all the set-up Thursday night and planning that it takes to produce an event.

Did You Hear? The Yorba Linda High School Songleaders - competed in the National Dance Team Championships in Orlando, Florida against some of the best teams from all over the country. There were 41 teams in their division who had to qualify just to attend. They competed in a preliminary, semi-final, and final round, ultimately placing 3rd out of all of those teams. It’s the team’s first year attending this competition in over seven years! CONGRATULATIONS!!

National Signing Day - Congratulations to our Mustang athletes who signed a Letter of Intent on
Wednesday February 6th! Thank you to the parents and coaches for the sacrifices that helped lead to their
