The school district recognizes that circumstances occur which necessitate student absences of five school days or longer from school. In such instances, the parents may apply for an independent study arrangement through the child's school. This arrangement allows for the student to continue learning while away from school and allows the district to receive state funds.
The student is to complete the subjects/courses they are currently enrolled in. Subject/course objectives reflect the curriculum adopted by the district's governing board and are consistent with district school standards, as outlined in the district's subject/course descriptions.
YLHS does request at least two week's notice in order to prepare the packet for the student. Please stop by the attendance office to pick up an application.
