Academic Mustang Achievement Award Criteria
The Academic Mustang Achievement Award is a program established by the PTSA of Yorba Linda High School to recognize the top scholars attending YLHS. Each spring, the administration submits names of the honorees to the PTSA, based on the students’ weighted 4.0 grade point average. Due to the District policy changes, effective 2015-2016, all honors classes are now weighted. PTSA will now recognize this new policy.
Eligibility will be based on the students GPA at the time of the AMAA award ceremony. There will be no retroactive awards due to this policy change.
Freshman: 4.0 or higher weighted GPA from the 1st semester grades are used to determine the freshman honorees
Sophomores: 4.0 or higher weighted GPA for 2nd semester of freshman year AND 4.0 or higher weighted GPA from the 1st semester of the sophomore school year are used to determine the sophomore honorees
Juniors: 4.0 or higher weighted GPA for 2nd semester of sophomore year AND 4.0 or higher weighted GPA from the 1st semester of the junior school year are used to determine the junior honorees
