All YLHS students have California College accounts! Students can conduct both college and career searches, take interest profilers, financial aid help and much more. If you need help creating your account you can watch a walk-through video HERE

Career Exploration Tools on

  • The Interest Profiler helps students discover how their interests connect to different careers. It does this by asking questions about how much they like or dislike different work activities. After completing the assessment, students will obtain a list of careers that match the activities they like.
  • The Work Values Survey asks students to rank values related to work, such as coworker relationships, creativity, and compensation. At the end, students are presented with careers based on the values that are most important to them.
  • The Multiple Intelligences assessment asks students questions about how they think, solve problems, and come up with new ideas. Using their answers, the assessment presents students with information on their strengths, how to develop them, and what careers their strengths might match.
  • The Do What You Are assessment is similar to a Myers Briggs personality type assessment. It asks students to respond to different descriptions, then uses their responses to highlight characteristics that align to their personality and corresponding careers.
Big Future allows you to search thousands of colleges and universities. You can specify your preferences such as location, majors, sports, size and extracurriculars. 
O*NET is a useful website for career exploration and job analysis. O*NET OnLine has detailed descriptions of the world of work for use by job seekers, workforce development and HR professionals, students, researchers, and more!
College Data helps students plan their path to college. It provides useful information about colleges, such as costs, size, campus life, classes sizes, and more!
The Princeton Review allows students and families to search and have in depth information for thousands of colleges and universities.
California Career Zone is where students can explore career and colleges. You can take interest and skills profilers, discover budgets and more! 
Truity is a great website for students to get to know themselves better. They can take personality assessments, career profiler, and find out what workspace is best for them.
