Community Service

Beginning August 2016 seniors must have 30 hours of community service completed to obtain a Lunch Pass.

40 Hours of Community Service are required for graduation. Attached is a Community Service Verification form.

SUMMER COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: Any YLHS student including in-coming 9th graders may earn community service hours during the summer.  A Parent Permission slip does not need to be turned into the office prior to earning service hours. Incoming 9th graders parent or guardian will give their permission on the Aeries Parent Portal before attending Back To School Days.

Summer Community Service hours earned must be turned in to the Front Office by September 30th of the year the hours were performed.

SENIORS must complete their Community Service hours and return their verification sheet to the Attendance Office prior to May 1st of their senior year.  If a senior does not provide verification by May 1st they will not graduate or be able to walk during the graduation ceremony.

For community service questions, please call Jeff Platt at 714/986-7500 ext.14012.

Attached below is the 2012 PYLUSD Community Service Handbook.  This is the latest version available to us.  The district is actively updating the handbook for 2019, after we brought it to their attention that it could use a refresh :-)
